Work Life Balance: It Starts with Us

Leaders of New Flyer Industries got the whole ball of wax as Getty and Darryl described their experience, challenges and strategies with work/life balance not only at home but also at work as leaders of IBEX Payroll.  The couple shared how each of them faced their own challenges in trying to achieve work/life balance - Darryl his issues with being a workaholic and Getty her issues with being a perfectionist.  They also revealed real life strategies that participants could easily relate to and adopt for themselves.  From a corporate perspective they described how they're making work/life balance an issue that is openly discussed and addressed at IBEX with every employee.  There was no doubt that at home and at work - work/life balance starts with us the leaders.

Guatemala - Here I Come!

Finding Funders and Creating Budgets

Senior centres programming staff and executive directors followed up a general introduction to proposal writing with a closer look at how to find funders and how to create great budgets.  After a lot of laughter, participants took a serious look at what dating and proposal writing have in common.  Next, participants played with some numbers and learned all the ins and outs of budgeting.

FACT got all the Facts on Proposal Writing

The Point Douglas family and child coalition members got an inside look at what it takes to create a winning proposal.  By the end of the day, everyone had the ideas, strategies and confidence to move forward in their proposal writing journey.  Knowing full well that funders are looking for FIT, CREDIBILITY and VALUE, these participants are ready to put the "facts" into action.
